Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Meet with your driver at your hotel and depart for Ouarzazate via the highest passe in the high Atlas Mountains, which is 2260 meters at the top. Along the way you will see the traditional Berber farmers using the terraced style of planting on the mountains side. The small road after the pass will take you to the beautiful village of Telouet where you will visit the Glaoui Kasbah. The road will continue along the Oued el mallah river and the Berber villages of the Glaoua tribe, you will visit the oldest village in the South of Ait Ben Haddou used as the location site for movies such as “The Jewell of the Nile” and “Lawrence of Arabia” Before arriving to Ouarzazate and check into the Hotel.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdez – Draa valley – Zagora
Departure in the morning toward Zagora via Tizi-n-Tinifift pass to reach Agdez and the Draa valley. You will take the unpaved road starting from Tansikht village through the forest of the palm trees toward the Oasis of Zagora where you will stop for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the first sand dunes of Tinfou and the mediaeval library of Tamegroute with its old Koran books which goes back to 11 century. Check into the hotel in Zagora.
Day 3: Zagora – Tazarine – Dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
You will continue to Merzouga through Djbl Tafilalet crossing the stone desert over the Anti Atlas with its lunar landscapes, stop for lunch will be in Tazarine village. In this area of desert landscape and fortified villages, which used to be the old caravan road bringing gold from South Africa to exchange for sugar and salt you will continue to the dunes of Merzouga and exchange your 4×4 with camels and ride inside the sand dunes to spend the night in the oasis of erg chebbi Dunes.
Day 4: Erg Chebbi dunes – Ziz Valley – Todra Gorge – Tinghir
Wake up early and walk across the dunes to see the beautiful sunrise, have your breakfast, pack your gear and ride back to where your car and driver are waiting to pick you up. You will drive in the desert landscape and see many fortified villages in the magnificent palm gardens of the Ziz Valley. Arrive into Tinghir stop for lunch in the heart of the spectacular Todra Gorge, with its huge, breathtaking red cliffs. It is a paradise for mountain climbing. After lunch, take a small hike through the canyons. You will drive across the berber villages and nomad tents in the afternoon to arrive the famous village of the weeding festival Imilchil and check into your hotel near the lac where you will enjoy the beautiful sunset.
Day 5: Imilchil–Khenifra– Fez
After having breakfast we will drive along a different road to Fez passing through the High Atlas Mountains we will stop for lunch at the river side of Oum Rabiaa. in the afternoon, we’ll continue through the cedar forest in the Atlas Mountains Along the way we will see the Berber monkeys who live and frolic in this area, stopping at the mountains villages of Ifrane and Azrou to see this beautiful area that the French once built their vacation homes in. Arrive to Fez, the end of trip.
