There is a very limited risk of malaria in some rural areas, so consult your doctor about taking malaria suppressants. Take along all prescription medicine and insect repellent needed for the trip. French-trained doctors can be found in most sizable cities. Don’t swim in desert streams ; the may contain bilharzias, a potentially fatal parasite.
Sanitary conditions in most restaurants in Morocco are not up to Western standards. Most hot, freshly cooked food should be safe (especially if it is included on a package tour), but peel fresh fruit and raw vegetables, make sure meat is cooked thoroughly, avoid local dairy products and assume the water is unsafe (stick with boiled drinks).
